Privacy policy

This policy describes what the p2.ae website actually does with personal data. That is
deliberately little: the site runs one measurement tag — Google’s advertising tag, described under
Cookies — and holds no personal data beyond what a person chooses to send us in an enquiry or a
quotation request. Everything below follows from those facts.

Last updated: 15 September 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller of any personal data described in this policy is
Progress Engineering Equipment Supply FZCO, the free-zone company registered in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates, that operates this site under the trading name P2 Industrial.

What this site does not do

Stating what is absent matters as much as stating what is present, so this is explicit:

  • One measurement script, and only one: the Google Ads tag (gtag.js), which tells Google whether
a visit that began with one of our advertisements led to a quotation request, a WhatsApp click or a
phone click. It is described in full under Cookies. There is no other analytics or tracking code.
  • No cookies of our own. The Google Ads tag sets Google’s cookies; see the cookies section below
for exactly which, and for how long.
  • One form: the quotation request at /request-a-quotation/, which sends us only what you type into
it. You can still reach us by email, phone or WhatsApp instead.
  • No advertising on this site. We advertise the site on Google Search; the Google Ads tag exists to
measure those advertisements and shows you nothing here.
  • No third-party embeds for content. Every stylesheet, font and image on the site is served from
p2.ae itself. The two exceptions are the Google Ads tag, loaded from googletagmanager.com on every
page, and Cloudflare Turnstile on the quotation form only, which tells people from automated
    submissions.
  • No sale of personal data, to anyone, for any purpose.

What we receive when you simply browse

Like effectively every website, the server that hosts p2.ae keeps standard access logs. When your
browser requests a page, the log records the IP address the request came from, the date and time,
the page requested, the browser’s self-reported identity (user agent) and, where the browser sends
one, the referring page. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure — diagnosing errors
and identifying abusive traffic — and for nothing else. They are not linked to any enquiry, are not
used to build profiles, and are deleted in the normal course of log rotation.

Cookies

We set no cookies of our own. The WordPress software the site runs on sets cookies only when
someone signs in to administer it — which visitors cannot do.

Every page loads the Google Ads tag (gtag.js), served by Google from googletagmanager.com. On
p2.ae it sets two cookies, each kept for 90 days: _gcl_au, a random identifier, and —
only when a visit began with one of our Google advertisements — _gcl_aw, which carries
that click’s identifier. Google also sets cookies on its own domains. Together they let Google report
to us, in aggregate, that an advertisement led to a quotation request, a WhatsApp click or a phone
click. We do not learn who you are from this, and the tag sends Google none of the content of an
enquiry — only that one was made, and its reference number, so the same request is not counted twice.
Google’s handling of this data is described in Google’s privacy policy at
https://policies.google.com/privacy. Blocking third-party scripts, or a browser’s tracking protection,
stops the tag entirely; the site works fully without it.

There is no cookie banner today. Our advertising, and therefore this measurement, is aimed at the
UAE. Where the law of a visitor’s own jurisdiction requires consent for this kind of measurement, we
will add that step before advertising there.

What we receive when you enquire

When you send an enquiry by email, phone or WhatsApp, we receive what you choose to give us:
typically your name, your company, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you tell us
about your requirement. The request a quotation page describes
what a useful enquiry contains; none of it is compulsory.

One point worth naming plainly: WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms and applies its own
terms and privacy practices to messages sent through it, which are outside our control. If you would
rather not use it, email and the landline reach us identically.

Why we process it, and on what basis

We use the details in your enquiry for one purpose: to respond to it — answering your question,
preparing a quotation, and, if you accept, arranging supply. For a business enquiry that you
initiated, responding is the obvious and legitimate basis for processing: it is the step you asked
us to take. We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not add you to any mailing list —
we do not operate one.

Who we share it with

Quoting an item can require sending your technical requirement to others — typically the
manufacturer whose product you asked about, or a freight provider pricing the delivery. Where your
personal details are not needed for that, they are not included: a manufacturer asked to confirm a
specification receives the specification, not your name. Where a delivery genuinely requires a
consignee’s details, we pass only what the shipment needs.

Google receives the measurement described under Cookies: that a visit which began with one of
our Google advertisements led to a quotation request, a WhatsApp click or a phone click, with the
request’s reference number. It receives neither your name nor the content of the enquiry.

Beyond that, the people who can read your enquiry are the people handling it at
Progress Engineering Equipment Supply FZCO. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we
disclose it otherwise only where the law requires.

International transfers

The manufacturers whose products we source are largely outside the UAE — today principally in
Europe — so a technical requirement, and occasionally the delivery details a shipment needs, may be
transferred there in the course of quoting or supplying. We limit what is transferred to what the
task requires, as described above.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as the enquiry, and any business relationship that
follows from it, remains live — a quotation you asked for last quarter is something you may
reasonably expect us to still have. Records of concluded transactions are kept for as long as UAE
commercial and tax law requires. Correspondence that leads nowhere is not kept indefinitely, and you
can ask us at any time to delete what we hold about you; see your rights below.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry correspondence lives in our business mailbox and phone.
Our mailbox is provided by a commercial email service, which may store correspondence on servers
outside the United Arab Emirates; access to it remains restricted to the people who handle
enquiries. We will not pretend any system is beyond compromise — no honest company can — but the
small amount of data we hold, and the fact that we collect nothing through the site itself, keeps
the exposure inherently small.

Your rights

This policy is framed for UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal
Data, under which you have rights including access to the personal data we hold about you,
correction of inaccurate data, deletion, and objection to processing. If you are visiting from the
European Union or the United Kingdom, we respect the equivalent rights under the GDPR and UK
GDPR.

To exercise any of these rights, email bdm@p2.ae stating what you want. We may need to confirm
you are who you say you are before acting on a request — releasing someone’s data to the wrong
person would itself be a breach. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may also
complain to the data protection authority with jurisdiction over you.

Changes to this policy

This site is new and will change. The quotation form and the Google Ads tag were both added in
September 2026, and this policy was updated with them. Each such change alters what this policy must
say, and we treat updating it as part of shipping the feature — the policy on this page describes the
site as it is, not as it once was. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.

How we conduct ourselves more broadly — what we publish and on what evidence — is described in
how we verify every figure we publish, and the rules for using the
site are in the terms of use.
